I questioned ordering this because of the negative reviews however, I decided to give it a try. After using it for 9 or 10 days I’m satisfied it works as advertised. One of the complaints was the lid wouldn’t stay up when filling. Actually, the lid does stay up if you push it all the way up until it clicks. If you only push it until you meet resistance you haven’t pushed it far enough. (With the pot sitting on a level surface the lid will be straight up when in the locked position.) Another complaint was that it doesn’t stop boiling. I believe the directions stated that it will boil for 30 to 40 seconds before the shut off activates. While that is probably 20 seconds longer than the last pot I had, it does shut down within 40 seconds. If you don’t like how long it boils just put your finger under the switch and touch it up. It takes almost no pressure and shuts off immediately. Someone mentioned that the lid has to be locked down or it won’t shut off. That may be possible, I haven’t tried boiling water without the lid locked down. I do like the switch location. I can have the pot sitting on the counter with the spout facing out and easily turn it on. That keeps the steam from going up under the upper cabinets. If you don’t think that is a problem, wipe your hand on the bottom of the cabinet after boiling water with the spout pointed in that direction. That much moisture is not good for a wood cabinet, especially if it is a daily event. I marked it down 1 star just because I would like to see it turn off sooner. Once the water is boiling hard I don’t see a need for it to boil for another 20 plus seconds.

Bought this for my dad because he loves to make tea and he uses it everyday. It heats up to a goof temperature and shuts off when it’s done. It’s really good quality too and big enough to clean by hand

Heats water very quickly and looks stylish on the counter. The glass is easy to clean, and the blue LED light is a nice touch. Auto shut-off works perfectly. I’ve been using it for a few months — no leaks or issues so far. Highly recommend!
