The light arrived well packaged and documented. The only issue was the on/off switch was dificult. Asked them if this was normal, they imediately sent me a new one. Nice light and great customer support, Circadian rhythm fixed ! For a few years couldn't sleep more than 3 or 4 hours a night, Watched every youtube video on sleep, went to sleep clinic, problem still existed. Read about using a LUX light, it works. Used a mild sleeping pillow the first week as I wanted to have wake up at 5am. At 5am I sat in front of the light for 20-30 minutes. After the first week my concurrent sleep time increased an hour a week. Now I am sleeping for 7+ hours. IT WORKS.

These therapy boxes have come a long way with led technology. I have a really old one that's bulky and heavy and uses tubes. Love the compactness and portability of this one. I just received it today, so haven't used it yet other then the 10 minutes of setting up and getting familiar, but it gets really bright and have no doubt it's putting out the 10,000 lux at the highest brightness setting. I'm confident it will work as well if not better than my old bulky dinosaur.

Works great! I wanted a light to help me reset my circadian rhythm and it appears to be working. Size and shape make it easy to set up. I travel with it by packing the light and power cable in my suitcase. Light has several settings, which makes it more customizable for your needs. IDK about longevity, but it seems to be a well made light.

Incredibly bright and seems to help. Well made. I like that the LEDs make it thinner than the bulb models. Has a very long power cord and the timer is easy enough to use once you figure it out. I like that there are several color temperatures you can select and I prefer the warmest light setting, I just wish there was an even warmer setting so I removed one star for that.

I've been using a SAD light for most dark seasons for the past decade+. This year, I treated myself to an upgraded verilux HappyLight. The difference between my original verilux HL and this new one is...wait for it...like night and day (HAHAHAHA!!!!!) My old verilux is a monster. It's approx 10" x 14" and 2" deep, with a fluorescent tube in it and no light frequency or light intensity adjustment. It was quite spendy, too (~$100, also on Amazon). However, it was also the least affordable option that would put out a sufficient intensity of light to be therapeutic. So, it worked great from a therapeutic perspective, but was also big and clunky. Fast forward to 2023 and post-space Bezos. This new verilux addresses all of the old light's shortcomings and then some. First, it's much smaller and sleeker than the old light, about the same dimensions as a large tablet - I think it's got an LED light inside - while still pumping out therapeutic amounts of light. This makes it much, much easier to set up and put away each morning. I also appreciate the fact that the frequency and intensity of the light can be adjusted. With the old light, I always spent the first week or so of the dark season heeling like my retinas and brain were getting a little toasted. I used to think that that was just part of getting used to the light again. With this new one, I was able to start with a lower intensity for the first few days and gradually build up to full strength brightness. I started with the whitest light freq with no problems, but could see how starting with a less-white freq would also help with dialing the treatment in gradually over a few days. My one - SUPER MINOR - critique is with the timer. I do love the fact that it has a timer. However, I think the timer settings are limited: No timer, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 60 min. I would like the product even more if there were more increments between 15 min and 60 min. Also, this new light was much less cheaper (~$65, also on Amazon) than the original one.

The Verilux Happy Light is a well made unit that resembles a computer tablet. It's got a solid feel, a bit heavier than I expected. The power cord slips into a port on the back of the unit with a small jack that looks like a USB-C male plug, and leads to a transformer block at the other end that plugs into an electrical power outlet. No problems with the cord. The only caveat about construction has to do with the plastic stand that supports the lamp. It's solid, but the lamp is just a bit top heavy for the stand. The combination works very nicely but I take care when moving the lamp + stand from one place to another. With care, I think the stand should last a long time, but might not if you handle it carelessly. As for the quality of the light, I like it very much. It's plenty bright for me as it stands near me on my desk. I don't even use it at the brightest setting (one step down from brightest is where I've set it). It's got color temperature selections; I use it at the coolest setting (it's got two settings that are warmer). The unit runs cool to the feel. Since it's LED, it doesn't use much power. Seems like the power is converted into illumination, not heat. This compact unit is a fine replacement for the large, fluorescent unit I used to have. It seems quite effective in helping me fend off the depression & lassitude that comes from SAD. I heartily recommend this Verilux HappyLight to anyone who needs help with SAD and also needs a solid, portable unit at a modest price.
