In a saturated market for humidifiers, this particular one rises to the top. It’s easy to fill maintain and clean and does the job quietly and effectively. Most ultrasonic options are missing the most critical advantage that this has- a fan to disperse the humidity. That feature alone is found in very few options on the market and being that Vornado is a fan company first helps its case even more. The operation on its lowest setting is whisper quiet and also includes and Automatic setting that varies between hi and low. If this had an infinitely variable fan in its auto setting that would make this king. The large tank size is helpful and filling it is simple. All in all this is a great product that does exactly what it’s supposed to.

This is a great humidifier because the circulating fan blows the moisture all around the room. I was initially given a bad impression of this humidifier by the Wirecutter review, because they wrote that the water filter leaked each time they refilled the water canister. Upon purchasing it, I found out that the water filter can be removed entirely if you have no need for it. Since most humidifiers don’t have a water filter at all, I find it very sloppy of Wirecutter to not mention the fact that the water filter is optional. Since they’re owned by the New York Times, maybe that sloppiness is required 🤣😂 I was planning to buy two humidifiers, one for upstairs and one for downstairs, but the one unit I purchased seems to be doing the trick. With it running on high all night, it uses up the whole tank of water (one gallon) and elevates our downstairs area from 30% to 70% humidity. With downstairs being so nice and humid, the old humidifier in our room can do a good enough job to get the room up to 50% humidity. This humidifier really does put out a good amount of mist; I took some photos with a flashlight to capture how much mist is going into the air. The beauty of this design is that the circulating fan blows the mist all over the room, instead of having it settle on the floor around the humidifier.
