Features

  • There’s nothing wrong with a little luxury in the great outdoors, especially in the form of a spacious and easy-to-use shelter like the Discovery Element 4 Tent. With nearly enough room to stand and move around inside and plenty of floor space for the whole gang to snuggle up to sleep, this three-season tent is great for families and friends of any age and camp experience. We love the breezy mesh canopy that keeps things cool even while the tent is packed full, and we can even watch the stars together on a clear night. If the sky is hazy and the clouds look threatening, the water-repelling rainfly is easy to put in place.

Solid tent, easy to pitch, a lot of room. If youre just getting started and not planning on using this as permanent shelter, this will do nicely.

Like others I wish the floor material was more substantial. Not the same as my older Kelty tents… It is plenty roomy for two people with cots, we found it to be waterproof after two days of solid wind and rain. What I really like is the easy of setup with this design.

We used this tent on a 10 day camping trip to Utah. It held up in extremely windy conditions in Zion. It was nice and spacious, for two people to have a cot and be able to move around. It is nice a tall. My husband could stand up. Set up is very easy with 2 people. It’s. A little tricky as a short person, but once you’ve done it 2 times it’s fine. Love the colors! The only down side was that there as very little or next to no ventilation when the fly is on. It needs another window. Worked fine for us. We just waited until night to put the fly on. Over all I really like this tent! It did not rain on our trip.

I bought a CORE tent and quickly returned it because water got on when it rained (yes i know how to tent. I wanted something with good ventilation but also a full fly to keep dry in the rain, because that’s the most important thing, right? I love that the inner tent is almost all screen for awesome ventilation and the ability to sleep in the breeze with the fly off. The poles are thick and heavy duty and the pocket mechanism for the ends of the piles is neat. Putting the tent up is a total breeze. 2 minutes inner tent and 2 minute fly and stakes with a friend. It is super easy to put up alone as well. One last thing - the zipper on the inner tent works like a dream. It really is a nice design. The zipper on the fly gets stuck sometimes it i find it ok. 6 person is ENORMOUS. Like 9’x10’. It’s super tall too. Note that it doesn’t have a plastic, tarp material bottom, so factor in getting a footprint or a tarp. I got a 9’x12’ tarp for $20 that works good with just one fold.

Upgraded to this 6-person Kelty because the kids are getting bigger. Like most tents the amount of persons is always 1 less than what they state when it comes to comfortability. You can pack 6 people in there but its going be tight, works great for 5 people and some gear. I always look for a tent with a rain fly that has 100% coverage and this one has that. You don't have to worry about staying off the edges, causing your things to get wet. Took it out this weekend in the Red River Gorge, KY for its first use and it got put to the test right away. It kept us and our gear dry through about 12 hours of rain on the first night. There were a couple hours of heavy rain that had us worried but it held up great and remained dry. The second day brought high winds(gusts up to 60-70mph). We had to leave camp and stay in a clearing for about 6 hours while trees toppled over. We came back to camp afterwards and this tent held up through it all. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. Super easy setup, sturdy, roomy, and will keep you dry.

I use this tent for every camping trip I’ve been on. Great for one person or two. Plenty of space and head height. Easy in/out with the large vestibule. The vestibule has one larger side that I keep open and I tie back the smaller side during the day. Great ventilation and haven’t had any issues with condensation (we’ve been to the coast and in the mountains). built well ,zipper work great no snags.
