Love the 4qt size and having a wide pot finally for a smaller pressure cooker. So far everything I have cooked has tasted great. I have cooked both jasmine and basmati rice separately and with chicken. It works easily and well, cleans up quickly and as usual with an IP, is fast. The glass IP lid for my 6qt works with this which is a plus. The updated quick release switch was what made me want to get this one. I am not sure if it matters to me overall about the power cord change but I did previously enjoy being able to store it in the pot. I was not a heavy user of the IP before but everything I used a lot is here with this model and the size fits my needs better so have already used it quite a bit. I love the white as well.

I bought this Instant Pot multi cooker to replace my larger, heavier, clunkier one that had bitten the dust. This one is smaller and lighter but not by much, just enough to be appealing. It looks good, heats up and cooks well, and is easy to operate. Cleanup is a snap. I use my Instant Pots essentially for pressure cooking so can't speak to the other cooking modes but don't see why those features wouldn't also work well thanks to excellent heating and digital controls. I really like the toggle switch for sealing/releasing steam. The 4 qt. size is perfect for cooking a plentiful meal for two. It's substantial in build but light and compact enough to tuck away and pull out when needed. Loving it so far!

First of all, I’m in love with the color! I love everything pink. While it’s the only pink kitchen appliance I have and it being the odd one out, I didn’t really mind because it’s so cute! Perfect size. It didn’t look “mini” to me. Bigger than I was expecting. First thing I cooked was rice. I actually love the fact that it has a stainless steel inner pot! I didn’t care that the rice kind of stuck to the bottom. I’ve transitioned to using steel ware in the kitchen. Rice out perfect. Next I made was Shoyu Chicken. Recently I’ve been so lazy to cook, so I wanted to try the pressure cooker function. Just seared the chicken and threw the rest of the ingredients in there. 15 mins later, I had super moist and tender chicken dish. I guess that’s how regular pressure cookers really work. But this one is user friendly! I also love how easy it is to release the pressure without being scared to get scalded by the steam. Love the buttons, so easy to understand! I’m now excited to cook once again. Looking forward to my next dish. Also, I got this for sale at $60 so great value! 💯 Recommend!!

Love the size and the pink color. So, much easier to work with and clean than the larger version. The sauté function does run pretty hot so don’t take your eyes off it. Did a pot roast almost the same size as the bottom of the pot in 75 min, on pressure cook setting. Took it out and set it aside to rest then put all the vegetables in the pot and pressure cooked for 30 min (could have done for less time) Probably could have done meat for 60 min and been fine. It’s nice and light and so much more convenient than trying to lug around the big one especially when there is only two of us now. It made more than enough for at least 4 people. So, unless you have a huge family or like tons of leftovers then this is great for 2-4 people easy. The directions for pressure cooking say to use a minimum of 3 cups of liquid but I believe this would be incorrect as it would have filled the pot over 3/4 full when you add ingredients. From what information I could gather on the internet you should only need a minimum of 1 cup liquid. Which I think sounds more correct because I split the difference and added almost 2 cups and in the end after done cooking I had probably 4 cups of liquid when all cooked. But overall very happy with the machine and it’s quick cooking time. It’s a great quality machine and was on sale so a steal of a deal. Definitely great value for the money

If you're already familiar with instant pots, you'll already know to expect some differences between models. Disregarding the size difference, a few things are noteworthy: 1) The interface is a little less complex on this one than other models. For instance, the pressure cooking setting doesn't have temperature control. So, just set it to pressure cook and away you go. 2) They've added an anti-rotate feature for the pot so you can stir things without the pot spinning around inside the unit. I hope they add this feature to all future models. It's just some silicone/rubber nubs that make contact with the pot when it is inserted. It's simple and effective. 3) The power cord is permanently affixed to the unit and at least for the US version, is just a 2 prong plug (and just by the way, that's all it needs. It draws less power than the bigger models). My wife has a big family so we have an 8qt instant pot duo crisp model that gets a work out for family events. One of my kids has a 6qt duo crisp. Both are just too big for 2-3 person meals. This Rio Mini is exactly right. I've only had it for a few days, but I've done all of the things I normally do with an instant pot and it performs exactly as I'd hope. I made a chicken meal from frozen to plated in under 30 minutes. I've done baked potatoes. I cooked rice (and by the way, the rice cooker feature is missing from our huge duo crisp model - you can do it, but it isn't as simple. This one is dead simple.). And, last night I did a more complex Bolognese/Penne pasta meal that turned out exactly as expected. I have no complaints about this model what so ever. I picked black because I don't care about matching any decor. It was easy to find it a home in my limited counter space. I ordered a silicone and a glass lid for the 6qt size and they fit this one perfectly. I have no idea if the silicone rings are interchangeable though. I like to keep a couple of seal rings to avoid flavor transfer after doing something heavy on onion or garlic and then doing something sweet or bland. Also, I'll be looking forward to when they offer spare pots for this one. It's nice to be able to make a main course, put a silicone lid on it, and then swap pots to make a side or a desert without having to empty and clean the first pot. This device is going to get a lot of use. The only thing that stops me from using our 8qt model more often and for more things is the size because there are often only two or three of us home to feed most days.
