Description

Features

  • The Black Diamond Access Spike Traction Device straps to hiking shoes and boots so you can trek trails with icy sections a lot easier. Like crampons, the Access features stainless steel spikes to assist with traction. Unlike crampons, the Access weighs less, packs better, and accommodates shoes and boots for longer trails with icy, non-technical terrain. It’s perfect for treks as grand as the Grand Teton, where there’s more mileage on rocky terrain than icy, but there’s still the occasional apron full of ice to navigate from time to time.

I’ve been using them this winter/early spring on the trails- they are easy to get on/off & are fantastic on ice and snow.

These things rock. I wore them on my hiking shoes in 12 inches of power with ice under that. I didn't slip at all. I was way faster than the snow shoe people and a lot less exhausted.

Worth every penny. They kept me from slipping on steep mountains in Colorado in 1 foot deep snow. My friend went with a cheaper product and slipped constantly. Funny for me but not for them.
