I do TONS of hiking. I bought these poles because a friend had a set and recommended it. Love that it is lightweight and durable. I love the Quick Flip-lock because once I lock these poles, they are NOT moving. Very important feature. These locks are amazing! Last thing I want to be doing is adjusting my poles on the trail! Comfortable handle grips. As well as adjustable straps. Hiker Hunger has a one year guarantee. I am very, VERY rough on my trekking poles as I proved it this past week. I did a 42 mile hike in 2 days, climbing up and down ridges and saddles, off trail hiking, I was using these poles to help pull me up too steep of hillsides, and these poles kept me from falling forward, (not exactly what these or most poles are intended for) At one point I was trail-running, lost my step as the trail narrowed quicker than my feet, and almost went off a mountainside. I dug my pole into the ground, and held on for dear life as I stopped myself abruptly from falling! My poles held up where most would have snapped!!! In fact, how these didn’t snap is a wonder! So, how strong are these poles? VERY!!!! These poles ARE Carbon Fiber which means you can’t be hang off cliff sides, and expect them NOT to break because Carbon Fiber will shatter under impact! Even though I tested that theory and mine held up! But that’s besides the point! I was tired, and climbed underneath a big fallen tree on the trail, I wasn’t paying attention, and kneeled on one of my poles by accident, and it splintered! I shattered it! Of all the ways to break a pole!!! Tenacious tape does wonders until I was able to get home! Called Hiker Hunger directly the next day, told them what happened, I gave them my order number off my Amazon receipt, and I have a new part coming in this week! So, no headaches of going through Amazon customer service! So, even though the pole breaking was my fault and stupidity, I can promise you that Hiker Hunger is definitely worth every cent!

I had to write a review as these poles were a godsend on two recent major backpacking trips. I bought two sets of these poles for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons National Parks that my husband and I were going to be taking this summer. We were hiking up Mount Washburn which goes to 10,000 ft and were recommended to have trekking poles. We both found these poles very easy to adjust to our individual needs. By adjusting the tension on the screws and then snapping closed the tab the poles could be easily locked into place without slipping. Mostly they were useful for reducing stress on joints as we climbed and the wrist straps gave great support without over taxing the arms. Our hike was about 4 hours long (up and down) and most of the terrain was gravel. There are two types of feet (knob and walking foot) to put on the spiked tips. Both were useful. I personally liked the walking rubber feet on the gravelly incline but when it got steeper I removed the rubber tips and went with the spikes for better traction. We also added the snow baffles on since there were parts of the hike that had snow in July and they functioned well preventing the pole from sinking too deep into the snow. On another more recent backpacking trip to Isle Royale National Park in The Upper Peninsula of Michigan these poles were by far the best piece of equipment besides good hiking boots. There is NO way I could have done this trip without my poles. These Hunger Hiker 2.0 poles stood up to the rocky and muddy terrain of the Rock Harbor trail and throughout all the park trails. I used the round knobs for stability on the rock and ground. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain and I lost (but found) a tip in the mud when I put my pole into mud and it literally created such suction that I pulled the tip off. I fished it out though so that was great, but then after I got stuck in a squat position grabbing for it with my pack on and my husband came to my rescue and ended up losing BOTH his tips the same way! Lesson learned…keep extra tips on hand….we just ordered more just in case. Also don’t go into a full deep squat with a 40 lb pack …lol!!! These poles were a great investment and at a decent price much less than some of the name brands in expensive outdoor stores. The poles have held up well to two solid backpacking adventures over gravel, rock, mud and trails. I can recommend these poles for anyone new to trekking poles and wanting a solid product at a decent price. The wrist strips are adjustable, comfortable and sturdy. They come with a nice storage bag that straps nicely to the side of a backpack and also travels nicely on an airplane. We store the poles with the rubber tips on so they don’t poke through the bag. One recommendation is to wear some sort of padded fingerless gloves for extra protection on long hikes. They gave an even better grip on the cork handles and held the trailing end of the wrist straps snuggly against the cork grip without creating blisters. I found that especially useful claiming up rocky bouldered terrain.

This product I tell you what I have generalized mytheneous gravis and this day these poles I was using a cane and it wasn’t helping very much cuz I kept losing my balance. But with these I can walk and not feel like I’m going to fall over and nobody has to hold my hand or I don’t have to hold nobody’s arm and they’re so lightweight and durable and they break down to really small they have a wonderful bad that comes with them even a strap so you can carry it they’re just an awesome product and this is a product you need to get if you have any kind of MS or my opinion or anything that has a walking problem for you these are awesome and that tips they give you for the ends of it to help you oh my gosh it is so cool you really need to check this product out. And the color they have so many different colors and I love it I got the red and it’s beautiful and it’s not too much and the stability oh my Lord it keeps you so stable you can’t even stand it I love it cuz I really have a hard time walking. And the ease of use oh my gosh they’re so easy to use it took me 2 seconds to figure it out and have them ready to go was it’s so easy so the assembly stability all that linked ease of use all that you had that with these. Like I said if you have any kind of stability issues when you’re walking this is what you need.

These light weight trekking poles never faltered through 10 days of hiking in Pinnacles, Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. I am genuinely impressed with the construction and the grips were very comfortable. I put over 120 miles on them, in all terrain types and very steep elevations and never once did they start to collapse, slip, or break down. I found them after looking on Amazon for lightweight carbon fiber poles after visiting a popular big box store. These were more than half the price. I am 6’5” and the height was perfect!
