this is a great lantern for camping; it’s bright (and you can change colors). We left it on all night at it still had a charge. It worked for a two day camping trip. It’s compact and easy to use.

Yes I know its expensive, but it is pretty darn cool with all the color options and “fire works” mode… just give it a shake. We took this camping, use it at our home fire pit, and used it during Halloween while handing out candy.

It’s bright, the colors look saturated and I like most of the lighting modes. I wish this had a few more options for customizing the light though. Like being able to change the color of the candle flicker light, or being able to lock the light mode while it is on to prevent the accelerometer from changing the mode. Docking one star because the multicolor mode on the Alpenglow 250 is better. On the 250, each half of the lantern is a different but solid color and it looks great when put against a wall. On the 500 each of the LEDs is a different color and the result just looks muddy. I also would like the interface updated to USB-C.

This is a fun little lamp. It has so many features: you can change its color easily, from warm gold to green, blue, red and multicolor. It can flash. The intensity can be varied. It will hang from a hook. You can use it to charge a phone in an emergency. It has a battery use indicator. It is light and compact. A long way from burning camp lights with radioactive mantles. Use it to camp or keep it by your bedside for a gentle nightlight. Very well worth the money.

I think there are better options out there. The single button used for clicking through modes is confusing.
