After trying the huge sterno-heated chafing dishes for our big family holiday meals, I packed them away and decided to try these electric versions that don’t need an open flame or hot water. They worked so well that I ended up buying six of them. At the reasonable price I got them for, I think it’s a wise switch. They are compact and easy to store and to set up. They are super easy to put in the dishwasher (trays and lids) and put away for next time. You can cook your food in the trays too. The heat is uniform in the base, so you can’t adjust it for each tray individually, but is fully adjustable otherwise. You can also use the base without the trays for larger containers, like your own casserole dishes or a big pan of appetizers – or whatever. The heating elements in the Proctor Silex Food Warmers kept our buffet items – which included casseroles, meats, vegetables, and biscuits – at a good temperature for safety sake and for serving up hot food on the second-time-around-run we all made.

I ordered this 3-tray warmer to help with Thanksgiving setup. I like to have food served hot at the same time, but a disposable chafing set was pricey and single-use. For a little more, I could get this reusable electric buffer warmer. This was a great purchase. I served 15 people and it held enough of each side with room for a little leftovers. It kept the food warm without burning or over drying. I appreciated the thoughtful design with the lid holder and utensil slots in the lid. It was easy to clean up: just wipe down the electric tray and dishwasher all the tray inserts/lids. My only wish with temperature-controlled products is that instead of having a temp. dial that has arbitrary numbers on it, I wish it had actual temperatures marked so I know what to set it at. Also, other users have mentioned that it takes up quite of a bit of storage. I managed to fit it under a spare sink. If you’re tight on space, then you’ll have to get creative with storage (saving the box and 2 foam inserts help). All in all, this will be at all family gatherings moving forward.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews, looking at sizes, & comparing prices before I made this purchase! I bought 2 for a retirement party. One we used as a flat warmer for a large pan of fried chicken, the other we used with the trays in for meatballs & sauce for meatball sandwiches. The temperature is adjustable from warm to hot. The lids fit well with a slot for the utensils if you want to keep the spoon in the food. There’s a metal piece to put in the back of the trays that will hold the lids while you are serving food. I didn’t use them but did try them out before the party. They work, I just didn’t need them. They cleaned easily, and store perfectly in the box w/ molded Styrofoam that keeps all the pieces from rattling around. We used them again for a large family Christmas party this past weekend. This time we only needed them for the flat heated units for 2 large trays of fried chicken. The buffet servers were a hit & everyone wanted to know where we bought them! We will get many years of use out of them; I definitely recommend spending a few extra dollars for this particular brand.

This was another Xmas gift to myself. After thanksgiving I wanted something to keep food warm. Bought this for a formal Xmas party I was having. First of all, I don’t cook often. My friends were really impressed that I owned this 😄 It looks great, and I thought a good value for the money. Kept food warm the entire time, love that I can use with 3 separate trays or as a flat surface for pizza or apps.

You don’t want to have food sitting out for too long at room temperature! I wish I had purchased this sooner since I do a lot of gathering and events at my place. The trays that come with this server are very useful and everything you need to keep things warmed. You also don’t need to use the trays themselves, and can put items directly on the hot plate. For any regular entertainer who hosts dinner parties or events at their house, I can’t recommend this enough.

Super product which met my expectations. When I opened the box I was a bit worried as there were two dents in the bottom warming tray, and some abrasions on the serving trays. However, they didn’t seem to affect the heating. I wasn’t sure how warm it would get, but on high it was enough to keep the food hot. My guests were impressed and it was very easy to use. I can see myself using this a lot.
