Quai Chang Cain –
This pump has been redesigned in the 10 years since I bought my Dragonfly, but this fits the old models just fine. With my original pump, I didn’t worry about putting torque on the valve as I opened the fuel bottle, and it developed a hairline crack which sprung a leak under pressure right as I was lighting my stove. That was a bit freaky. But with the new layout, I have no problem loosening the bottle without applying torque to the working parts (though the main difference might just be that I’m being careful now). In any event, I wanted to let those who are wondering know that even though this looks different than the original Dragonfly pump, it works fine with the old models.

My original lasted 20 years. Though the original pump is now broken slightly, it is not a dangerous issue and still works as a backup. The new pump is built much better and made of better materials especially in the places that needed to be tougher. I am very happy with the pump and the entire device. My Whisper stove has stood the test of time and the abuses from flawlessly igniting and cooking 100’s of hot meals often prepared at times during an excursion when I was either too tired, too cold, too wet, or D) all the above to even consider being gentle with my kit. This is about the only piece of kit that has survived so well, and this replacement part will give me another 20 years and likely more. Bonus: Came with a new aluminium heat shield set (bottom and side) like the original kit.

This is a drop-in genuine replacement MSR fuel pump. My old one was no longer shutting off fuel, as the plastic housing had worn after 15 years. I hope this one lasts as long, but sure feels like it will. If you want the old school reliable and rebuildable pump system, this is it!

Its a MSR pump so its as expected from a MSR product. came in good shape and works fine.

Don’t buy the used ones, Amazon resale sent me a pump clearly labeled as broken but represented it as “used-mint” condition, the new pumps are of course great. MSR liquid fuel stoves are pretty much bomb-proof, and these pumps last forever with rebuild kits if you don’t accidentally set them on fire and melt them😬

The newer versions feel more solid. The flame control is better, it will low simmer much better. The pump feels solid and I look forward to many years of trouble free cooking.

Replaced 25y old pump. The maintenance kit to replace the seals was not much cheaper. MSR makes quality products. Love my Dragonfly

The perfect replacement to get my old MSR Firefly stove working again. Some of the plastic broke from my original pump, due to age.
