Megen Guest –
When a ~1 year old yellow lab showed up on our back porch and we couldnt find its owners, we took him in. I knew yellow labs have problems with their joints and weight, and after hearing about Royal Canin from a co-worker, we had to try it out. I did not want to see Buddy (our adopted pup) go through what my dad’s yellow lab went through before passing away. We already had a black lab/brindle boxer mix who always ate the less expensive food. It was time to feed them quality product. This product is definitely quality. So much so that our cats like to eat it! The large kibbles are supposed to slow labs down when eating; however, Buddy has learned to swallow them whole! I have to feed him by hand so that our other dog gets a chance to eat her food (she actually chews her food). The first week – gas was HORRIBLE with both the pups. After the first week, it was gone. I have not noticed any difference in their coat, but I definitely noticed that they have alot of energy! It is hard to compare physical traits because we’ve only owned Buddy for 3 weeks now, so we had no idea how he acted before we got this food. One positive thing I have noticed with the Royal Canin is that our black lab/boxer mix no longer has bad breath! We were told the last time she went to the vet that she was getting some tarter. I knew we had to start brushing her teeth, but these big kibbles took care of the problem for us! (One less thing for us to do!) With two dogs, we seem to be going through the 30 lb bag of food in less than a month. Buddy is 87 lbs, Lana is 75 lbs. We may try the Eukanuba (sp?) next and compare. I was extremely impressed how quickly Amazon got the food to us, and like others mentioned: it was nice not having to go to the store and buy their food! I ordered the food on Friday morning and it was delivered on Monday!

We’ve got a big 120 lb mastiff/chocolate lab mix lovable beast with serious allergy and skin issues and have been through thousands of dollars of vet-recommended dog food “experiments” – limited ingredient, no grain, this protein, that protein, prescription/non-prescription, homemade, cooked/raw, and so forth, sometimes things work for a while, then our poor pup’s skin flairs up again and were thrown back to zero again. About a year ago, a very experienced and reputable (obsessed?) Labrador breeder / trainer told me that she only feeds her dogs Royal Canin Labrador. So, out of desperation, we tried it. Not only did he love it, his skin irritation got under control for months. What’s kind of odd and ended up being an amazing “accidental” find is that, when his skin irritable begin flaring up again, we were low on dog food and I had tried to find anywhere with Royal Canin Labrador food nearby or with delivery and couldn’t. During a visit to a big-name pet supply chain store about 30 miles from home (was told they had it in store), one of their wonderful employees recommended that I try Royal Canin Golden Retriever “because they are both retriever breeds”. I bought it because I was running out of options, and am so glad I did. After feeding him Royal Canin Golden Retriever, his skin irritation went back down. Don’t know how or why, but it did. So now, we only feed our big beloved dog beast (with very expensive and high-maintenance allergies and skin issues) only Royal Canin Labrador, alternating between Labrador and Golden Retriever every now and again. Since switching to Royal Canin over a year ago, he’s had more playful spunk. his fur has been softer with a beautiful sheen, and he’s definitely been a happier pup with significantly less itchy, painful allergy flare ups. This is high-quality dog food by a company who clearly knows what they are doing to make dogs lives the best that they can be. It is worth every penny.

Great dog food. Yes it’s expensive but it’s worth it. My dogs love it and you can tell it’s high quality food vs what you get from other brands.

Love this brand and this particular product! We have been having a hard time finding the perfect fit for our 2 year old Labrador. So far this is the best option. He seems to like it. His digestive system seems to be improving.
RAUUUUL –
Ingredients, digestion. My dog would not eat anything else.
