Purchased because Camelbak didn't want to replace the leaking bladder from my old hydration pack bought from an authorized dealer on Amazon. This hydration pack is really an improvement from my old one that I used for cycling and running. Light weight great pocket set up and specific pump space. BTW after contacting the seller, Camelbak, and Amazon the bladder for my old pack was replaced free of charge under Camelbak's got your back warranty. Since I like this pack so much I use it as my primary and my old one as back up.

This backpack is great. I bought it specifically for a Spartan race when a fellow gym member told me the water stations are few and far between. I did this race in PA up a mountain in the dead of July, so it was 90+ degrees. I was out in the heat for a 5+ hours between waiting in line to check in, racing, and walking around after. The backpack never felt heavy despite being filled and refilled a few times. It has just enough storage space for the essentials - two phones, my wallet, a bottle of sunscreen and car keys. It never felt sweaty on my back. And my favorite part was the storage unit water stayed cold (until I refilled with the race’s water). No leakage issues. I would highly recommend getting for short activities like a Spartan race or a short hike.

Definitely learning curve for new user. I thought I’d be clever and 1/2 fill with water and freeze the night before hiking. Bad idea. The ice blocked the port and I couldn’t drink until it melted, which took hours even in the hot sun. I don’t like how the water in the tube gets warm so your first few sips are warm water before the storage unit water comes through. It would be nice if the tube had an insulation sleeve so it stayed fresh. I find it a little hard to get the water out. You need to pinch the mouth piece just so. Also, make sure the tubing stays clicked in or it leaks- mine came out while trying to adjust the tube outside of the pack. I think there are some design issues, but it ended up working well, it holds ample water for long hikes, has pockets, is comfortable, and I think will become easier to use. Just don’t freeze it overnight!!
