Good quality for 50 dollars. Large tracks, big trains, and the realistic smoke and sounds. Also make sure you take out the battery when you want to charge the train!

I recently purchased the Hitish Special Edition Electric Train Set for my nephew, and it has quickly become a cherished addition to his playtime. The set features a classic steam locomotive that emits realistic smoke, accompanied by authentic train sounds and a working headlight, creating an immersive experience. For ~$50 price point, I am very pleased with this. At this range, I'm expecting plastic-y bits, some less-than-ideal features, and not all that impressive detail or performance. Some of that exists here, but overall we are exceeding expectations. Meets: cheap feeling plastic in construction, nothing feels very substantial, this is not your collectors kit level of train. Turn on and off is only doable from the engine, which is rather inconvenient to bend down and snag it while moving. Sound effects are either on or off, there's no control of volume or anything like that, and, again, only controllable from the engine. The fog feature isn't very noticeable, and I think mine is either malfunctioning or it's not consistent in how / where it releases - it is synched with sound effects, though, even when sounds aren't turned on. The electric whining and general operation noise of this thing is rather loud, so I don't expect to have this thing turned on as a regular, stock/ standard decoration, since it would be pretty annoying to hear it in the background of TV watching or whatnot. That said, because it is battery only, that would likely be annoying to constantly recharge, anyways. Because of the plastic-y bits, assembly is a little nerve-wracking since you feel like things will snap or break when connecting trains, tracks, electric leads, accessing battery, etc. but nothing of mine has broken yet, so this is mostly just a quality feeling for now. Exceeds: when it's set up (which is very simple, minus the aforementioned breaking stress), it looks very good. From a few feet back, you could be fooled into thinking this is a much more expensive train, visually. Up close, the details are pretty solid, too, setting aside plastic-y bit appearance (obviously if you're a collector you'd know, but as a causal, it's impressive). Lighting on the engine and the passenger cars gives such a great appearance of miniaturized realism, again, especially from a few steps back. The lighting, in particular, punches above the price point, as I've seen name brands over double the price not offer the lighting like this. Again, the fog feature, while not perfect, is an offering that some double priced models don't even offer. You can eliminate some wheel squeak with some graphite lube. Very pleased as an entry set for kids and/or Christmas decorations.
