The pot itself is nice. Great material selection, quality coating, good construction. But, why is the handle made from super thick, super heavy stainless steel? It makes this pot irrelevant for backpacking compared to my cheap toaks pot. The handle is also needlessly complicated. 2 springs and an unintuitive release lever? It's silly. This pot is so complicated that the Entire pot is covered in instructions and warnings. I checked my kitchen and none of the pots and pans have instruction or warning labels. In fact, I haven't been able to find a single cereal bowl, drinking glass, dinner plate, or any other things I've ever used to consume food with instructions on it. IF YOUR COOKING POT REQUIRES EXTENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS TO BE PRINTED ON IT, YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG! This pot is needlessly expensive, has a ridiculous heavy handle and is completely wrapped in legal jargon. It must have been designed by someone who has literally never cooked, or even seen a meal being prepared. Every other similar product in this price range and cheaper are a better value and easier to use than this product. S2S is out of touch.

Use it for car camping. Very light weight, heats up super fast, easy to clean, extremely durable material, packs away neatly and perfectly in Plano create with handle detached. Got it on sale. Will last a long time. Doesn’t carry food taste after washing. Stow pocket rocket stove in it in transit. Crazy metal used for it. Good buy.

Got the 3l pot. Just took it on a 4 day backpacking trip with my wife, son, and his friend. We used it to cook lunch each day. It is extremely lightweight, durable, and easy to clean after each use. It was big enough for us to cook 6 packs of ramen noodles at once. Making it easy to functionally cook once for all four of us. The removable handle that secures the lid in place works great and strainer holes in the lid are perfectly designed to drain excess water. Love it. We also used it to fry jalapeño cheddar sausage. It plus my stove and fuel was as light if not lighter than my old jetboil kit.

We have used this pot quite a few times now and really like the 1.3 L vol, the diameter and the easy clean inside surface. It also heats evenly and cooks well on my backpacking stoves. The lid is well thought out and works great. The handle works OK and is secure. However, it is not intuitive to remove since you must move the yellow tab different directions if in the in use or stow positions. Also, why is the handle heavy thick SS and not light aluminum or titanium? The handle seems to weigh more than the pot!

TLDR - it works great, is the right size, is lightweight, and the air hole design means pouring is easy. The 2 cons I have with it, are 1) pouring and holding the lid on still results in slight leaks. Not sure if a thin silicone seal would help here. 2) It doesn't collapse. Seat to summit has a collapsible tea kettle version that another member brought on the trip which worked just as well. Your needs may vary, so I would recommend either this or the collapsible version. Bought this for a backpacking trip in the cold where we needed to heat up water fast. I have a knockoff backpacking stove that uses the disposable canisters, and a MSR whisperlite. I previously used a Stanley Adventure Nesting Cup kit, but while it has great reviews, the problem with that kit is it is narrow and tall. It is a delicate balance keeping it on both stove types, and because of the height instead of width, means it takes longer to boil water (much longer, which is a waste of fuel). With this Sea to Summit cooking pot, heat transfer works just as fast as a jet boil. And, using this with my whisperlite meant I was able to boil a lot of water for a large group and still have lots of white gas left. I'm very happy with this!
