I have a pretty picky dog, who prefers the cat food over every food I have ever bought here. She never wants her food, and only eats a little bit at a time of her food. I’ve tried at least 5 types…from target’s brand Kindful, to the most expensive one I could find at the bougie pet store. She always just eats a few bites here and there. I started a Google search on best dog food and came across this brand. The price-point scared me, but she’s worth it. When I tell you my dog finally eats normally, I feel so terrible! She’s never eaten like this before. She loves this stuff. And the cats sneak in and eat her food too. They’ve never tried to sneak her food. So happy I found this!

I have two Shih Tzus who are both extremely picky eaters, and finding something they will consistently eat is a real challenge. I saw all the great reviews for this food topper and was very hopeful that this might finally be a solution for us. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case in our home. Just like with so many other foods we’ve tried, my dogs simply couldn’t be bothered with it. They showed no interest at all. I wanted to share our experience for others who might be in the same boat. While I’m sure this is a wonderful product for many, it’s important for people with very fussy dogs to know that it’s not a guaranteed success. For us, it ended up being a waste of money, and I hope this perspective helps someone else with picky, perhaps older dogs, take that into consideration before they buy.

Royal Canin was recommended by my Vet. My extremely fussy senior rescue Poodle LOVES it. Since he is missing many teeth, I put a very small bit of water in the bowl first, and then sprinkle the Royal Canin on top of it. It slowly absorbs the water just enough to soften it sufficiently to make it easy to chew. Won’t use any other Dry Food!
