Seraphima –
This is an excellent piece of Calphalon cookware. It is a large, deep skillet that is almost like a hybrid with a wok. It comes with it’s own glass lid that has a rubbery seal around the edge of the lid. This specific line/material is able to go in the dishwasher which you’re going to like because this thing is SO HEAVY. I am able to put it on the top rack of my washer but it takes up 90% of the space there. Seriously, if you need to be able to lift the piece to do the cooking of your food, or hand wash it, you need to know how heavy it is. Not for people with weak arm or grip strength. It has a long handle so the weight of the metal portion is far out from where you’re holding it, causing it to perhaps feel even heavier than it might otherwise.

This skillet is a replacement for its older ‘identical’ twin. The first lasted perhaps 7 or 8 years (long enough to forget how long) and was still “okay” albeit not very slippery anymore, but otherwise perfectly serviceable. There was no scratching or warping, and it was nice enough to not feel guilty about passing it along to the Salvation Army. This new replacement is different only in that it claims to have an improved anti-stick coating, although we really couldn’t complain about the life of the last one. It is a VERY large skillet, so be sure you that you actually want one this big, before you buy. It’s also rather heavy so you will often need that little extra handle on the pan for lifting it especially when the lid is being used. The large handle alway stays cool to the touch. We use this pan at least a couple of rimes a week for something or other and were pleased to find that it is still available to buy. The improved coating is a nice ‘plus’ but we would have cheerfully bought this pan again even without that

Quite a few years back my wife and I purchased a set of the Calphalon Space-Saving cookware and we haven’t looked back. I had to replace our 12″ fry pan as that is our primarily used pan. It was showing a lot of wear and wasn’t as non-stick as it used to be. I accidentally ordered this sauté’ pan and will definitely keep it. It is wonderful and I have inspected some of our other pans and will replace a couple of them as well. The space-saving feature is fantastic and will definitely aid you in keeping pans in a compact area providing more room for other kitchen items. I love having this sauté’ pan as it has the same volume as our dutch oven. It is very easy to cook our meals with and cleanup is a breeze. The depth compared to a 12″ fry pan is a great option to have. If you are in need of a sauté’ pan then this should be on the top of your list to consider. It is versatile and will provide you years of cooking enjoyment.

Good size for me. So far seems more scratch resistant than my usual pots. I’ll probably gradually replace them with this brand. But it IS heavy. So I have to pay particular attention when it’s full and I must lift with two hands. Wish there was a little handle to grip both sides.

This is worth the money! One of the best cooking products I’ve ever used. Food doesn’t stick and it still looks like new after a year of use. I would buy another one when I need it.
Not Happy Customer –
I like this pan very much. Good quality.

This is our 3rd Caphalon 13 inch skillet so, of course, we love it. Had to replace our old one because the non-stick surface was scratched.

This has been a great pan. I love the size and it does all the things well. I haven’t put it in the dishwasher but it is holding up nicely. have had for about 6 months now.
